Caroline has been busy since early August supporting two different Community Development Trusts and it feels great to be working with communities again!
The role with Meigle and Ardler Community Development Trust involves developing the Meigle & Ardler Smart Village portal which is a fantastic initiative being rolled out across the country. A Smart Village is a digital community promoting enterprise support and connectivity for rural businesses – they connect people in rural areas, supporting new and existing enterprises, creating a network of digital champions – all working together to build a vibrant, creative and sustainable rural economy in Scotland.
Caroline is undertaking another digital project with Crieff Community Trust and is excited that she also gets to work with the Scottish Tech Army – a passionate group of volunteer professionals who formed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to support numerous projects such as this one to benefit communities.
Both roles also involve Community Action Planning and Caroline was incredibly lucky to be part of the first training cohort with the Rural Perth and Kinross Community Action Planning Programme. After intensive training organised by the STAR Development Group and Perth & Kinross LEADER programme, she can’t wait to facilitate this community engagement work across both localities to support community surveys, stakeholder interviews and open days/launch events whatever they may look like during these very challenging times.
