Social Prescribing

When Support in Mind Scotland approached us to take part in a review of Social Prescribing in Scotland, we were delighted to take part.  The report was commissioned by RSE’s Post-Covid Futures Commission and RSE describes Social Prescribing as a community referral approach to signposting clients to a range of support networks outside of health services.  Referrals are regularly made to improve quality of life for individuals e.g. by reducing isolation.

We were keen to take part because typically in Perth & Kinross, procuring services to support social prescribing does not include small businesses like Making Sport Fit but rather community organisations or existing services.  We strongly believe that we also have the skills and expertise to deliver on this valuable approach to improving health and wellbeing and it was fantastic to be included in the case studies.

You can learn more, read the full report and watch the video with various interviews, including ours here.
