Making Sport Fit is aware of groups in our rural communities who would love to participate in sport but travelling to a central location isn’t always an affordable or practical option. The FIT ourneeds service has been created especially to tackle this challenging barrier to ensure that sport is accessible to everyone, regardless of locality.
As a service provider, have you ever thought, we don’t have the time or enough staff to take our clients to a sports session or felt bad because some clients have to miss out due to limited capacity on the mini-bus? In the current climate of extreme demands on resources, Making Sport Fit can bring sport to you. Any opportunities would very much be developed to fit the needs of your client group and to work at the appropriate level, adaptation and speed of progression. All you should be thinking about is what activity your clients would like to experience and provide a venue! We can deliver a variety of activities including:
- Jogscotland Learn to Run/Walk for Fitness
- SOMA (Sporting Opportunities for Motor Activities) for people with profound and complex disabilities to improve/maintain fine and gross motor skills
Caroline loves running so she also offers FIT Together Jogscotland sessions in Scone as a way of giving back to the area in which she lives and works. Jogscotland has a fantastic partnership with SAMH and Caroline has taken the ‘I’m here’ pledge on behalf of Making Sport Fit – this means we have completed the SAMH Mental Health Awareness e-learning training and that we welcome mental health conversations at our sessions. Our programmes offer various Beginner FIT, Improver FIT and Wheely FIT at different times throughout the year. We are especially proud of our Wheely FIT session – if you push a buggy or a wheelchair, you are welcome! If you are interested in learning more about any of these sessions, please contact us for further details.
Disability Sport Birthday Fun
Disability Sport Birthday Fun is a unique service offering planned sporting activities around the needs of the person celebrating their birthday. You provide the food and venue (including your home if suitable) – we provide the equipment, activities and fun! We understand that small breaks may be required for timeout, personal care or medication and the party can be planned to fit around all of these. A birthday party should be enjoyable for the parents and carers too – so no need to be standing on ceremony for us. Each birthday party participant will receive a Making Sport Fit branded buff/bandana.
We can make bespoke storyboards with Boardmaker and we also have BIG Step switches and pillow switches to help with independent communication to support any of our sessions.
Check our full Terms & Conditions and Pricing Information for further details about all of our services.
