Run of Good Luck

As we approach the end of the year, we are feeling lucky to be busy and to have some great opportunities lined up in 2022.

We are continuing with the Community Action Plan themed work stream, this time for the beautiful town of Pitlochry. I suspect the work early next year will revert to Zoom but it has been a great pleasure up until now to be able to visit the community and meet so many of the active people who make it a desirable place to live, work and visit.

Recently we were also delighted to hear that our funding application to the Perth & Kinross Micro Enterprise fund was successful and we will be working again in the New Year with Sarah at Strategy Cards who will use her creative skills to develop a digital version of our training cards. This will enable us to work remotely with schools across the country, not just Perth & Kinross, to keep delivering our training offer during these ever challenging times. We are very grateful for this support to develop our services.

We also have some BIGGER funding news – funding that will elevate our research and development for ladies who run and we cannot wait to share more information when possible. This is a tremendous achievement and demonstrates massive faith in our vision (even if I say so myself!) and 2022 is going to be incredibly exciting!

And lastly, on the running front … I feel very honoured to have a place in the iconic 95-mile West Highland Way Race after a ballot in November. The race has a worldwide reputation and places are highly sought after. I may become ever so slightly anti-social until the big day! I say ‘day’ but runners have 35 hours to complete it after a 1am start on Saturday 18 June – believe me, I will need every minute! I have many obstacles to overcome/avoid and anything can go wrong at any time but it wouldn’t be as much fun if it was too easy, would it??!
