All things running

Aren’t we so very lucky ordinarily to be able to run?? We will never take the freedom to go out the door and run for granted wherever we wish again. Caroline feels extremely lucky to have entered three events at the start of the year including the Forfar Trail Half Marathon, the Devilla Forest 15K race and also Glentress marathon for the third time, never dreaming for a minute that all foreseeable events would be cancelled shortly thereafter. Strange times indeed and it takes a strong mindset to stay motived, so we have been planning a new challenge for our FIT Together group (you don’t have to be part of the group to do this!) which can be tackled alone or with other family members and this will be launched very soon…
In the meantime if you had been considering signing up for our beginner’s block – don’t be disheartened, you can still get started! Jogscotland kindly published their Walk for Fitness and Learn to Run programmes – take a look and start getting one foot in front of the other – the hardest bits are deciding to take the plunge and then getting out of the door for the first time – so if you are reading this, you are just about there! Well done, as doing it unsupported can seem like more of a challenge but you can do it and if you need any support at all, then please do not hesitate to get in touch, we would be delighted to offer encouragement and advice. Take a look at the Jogscotland resources here, which includes warm ups and cool downs. There is no need to join as a member to do these two programmes. Good luck and let us know how you get on!
